Cyberattacks against transportation companies—including railways, airlines, shipping, and trucking—are surging. According to a recent Trellix report, the transportation sector in the U.S. experienced a 100% increase in ransomware activity every quarter of 2022. Identity-based attacks can bring operations to a halt, disrupting the delivery of goods and services—and endangering the public. In this session, Sean Deuby and New Jersey Transit CISO Rafi Khan discuss some of the challenges faced by transportation company leaders and security teams in protecting identity systems. Khan will provide practice guidance for addressing identity security problems based on his experience leading the security strategy for the nation’s third-largest provider of bus, rail, and light rail transit.
